Panels

Our convention will feature a collection of panel discussions. Some will be on general topics in our field and others will be centered on our theme — The 200th anniversary of the birth of Edgar Allan Poe: From Poe to the Pulps.

“Edgar Allan Poe was the first American author of stories of horror, the fantastic and the macabre. As such, he has influenced generations of authors, including such luminaries as Ambrose Bierce, Mark Twain, Clark Ashton Smith and H. P. Lovecraft. In honor of the bicentennial of his birth, we will examine Poe’s influence on the field from his earliest stories to the beginning of the pulp era.”

We are committed to presenting a set of panels that will be interesting to our members and so we invite you to include your suggestions for both panels you would enjoy participating in and panels that you would like to attend. Space to do so will be provided in the programming survey when it is published. Please bear in mind that every year there are more attendees desiring to participate in programming that there are spaces to accommodate them. We will do everything possible to satisfy your requests but we may not be able to do so.
